Himmelen mellom Spania og Island ble bare t\u00f8mmere.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Lavpris icelandic Airline Play har g\u00e5tt byste, og kunngjorde 29. september at det sluttet alle operasjoner med \u00f8yeblikkelig virkning. Nyhetene staver en br\u00e5 slutt p\u00e5 flyene som forbinder Alicante-Elche flyplass med Reykjav\u00edk, og etterlater tusenvis av reisende som lurer p\u00e5 hva som skjer videre.<\/p>\n
Fra ambisi\u00f8s vekst til plutselig fiasko<\/h2>\n
Play’s Fall har ekko av Wow Airs spektakul\u00e6re bortgang i 2019. I likhet med Wow, lovet Play billige billetter og dristig utvidelse, men \u00f8konomien har aldri holdt tritt med ambisjonene. Bestillinger t\u00f8rket, tap stablet p\u00e5, og en konstant str\u00f8m av d\u00e5rlige overskrifter fliset bort p\u00e5 Passenger Trust. I september hadde selvtilliten kollapset helt – og det spilte ogs\u00e5.<\/p>\n
Hos Alicante-Elche vil flyselskapets frav\u00e6r merkes. Play hadde bygget en jevn tilstedev\u00e6relse, og l\u00f8p opp til fem flyvninger i uken i sommersesongen, og forberedte seg p\u00e5 \u00e5 beholde tre ukentlige avganger i vinter. Det er n\u00e5 historie.<\/p>\n
F\u00e6rre alternativer for reisende<\/h2>\n
Kollapsen forlater Islandair som den eneste \u00e5ret rundt som forbinder Alicante med Island. Flaggb\u00e6reren hadde allerede rolig rampet opp sine spanske tjenester, og innsidere sier at det sannsynligvis vil dra mest nytte av Play’s undergang.<\/p>\n
Det er ogs\u00e5 Italias Neos, som vil fortsette \u00e5 operere en ukentlig sommerflyvning fra Reykjav\u00edk til Alicante, mest for pakkeferier. Individuelle billetter selges p\u00e5 sin hjemmeside, men tjenesten er ikke designet for \u00e5 matche fleksibilitetsspillet n\u00e5r den er tilbudt.<\/p>\n
Forel\u00f8pig vil alle som h\u00e5per p\u00e5 samme niv\u00e5 av rimelig tilkobling mellom Costa Blanca og Island bli skuffet. I f\u00f8lge 2024 -tall hadde spill mer enn 60 000 passasjerer p\u00e5 ruten – rundt 61 prosent av det totale markedet. Det gapet vil ikke bli fylt over natten.<\/p>\n

For flyplassen og den bredere Costa Blanca-regionen er Plays forsvinning mer enn bare en kansellert flyplan-det er en p\u00e5minnelse om hvor skj\u00f8r lavprisssektoren kan v\u00e6re. Flyselskaper kan reise seg raskt, flomdestinasjoner med bes\u00f8kende, og deretter forsvinne like raskt.<\/p>\n
Lokale reiselivseksperter frykter at Islands marked kan krympe uten lekens kapasitet. Mens Icelandair kan trappe opp, betyr f\u00e6rre seter vanligvis h\u00f8yere priser og mindre valg for reisende.
